Stoking The Fires of Winter

As we meet yet another end of another calendar year, we find ourselves in the Sagittarius season. I always chuckle to myself when I am reminded of this, because this fire sign is wrapped up in the colder months. We are slowing down, spiritually hibernating and wrapping ourselves up in the inner warmth of self. So much like a Sag, with its internal heat, warm and soothing or raging and burning, depends on the side you find yourself.

Funny enough, the card in the deck that represents Sagittarius is the Temperance card. This card is a reminder to find moderation and peace within. This a reminder to those with Sagittarius placements, that building greatness, knowledge, and understanding the ways of the world takes time. The energy right now in nature is a slow one. We mentally get set for the Holidays, time with family and friends and life is not as fast paced as it would be during the summer months. This may not be the greatest time to start much of anything, due to the slower pace to get things done. However, if we are smart, we could use the magic of Temperance, which causes us, to slow down, think, ignite, reignite, invigorate your soul’s internal fire, and it’s passions. Keeping a fire going, that is consistent, (self work,); can help us endure. It only takes a spark to keep the fire going!

Advice: Don’t push too hard this winter season, especially in the traumatic blizzards of life - (commercialism, unwanted family gatherings); Admit where you are and emit it (as my good friend Xy would say); trust yourself to take care of yourself. Use the fire of the cold, to defend and protect yourself where necessary.

Unapologetically.

Stoke the fires of internal peace, meditation and self knowledge. Be gentle with yourself but don’t take any shit. May your flame burn the brightest!
